“He did splendid work all the way through. Soon after the capture of the Messines Ridge he did great work under very heavy fire the whole time, laying the change direction tape.
As Intelligence Officer his work was exceptionally good during the time his Bn. Was in the operation 7th to 9th June. Doing reconnaissance work alone, he obtained valuable information which made linking up and consolidation possible.”
