Harlie Vilgers
Written by great grandson, Rhys Grainger
A poppy brought back from Europe by my great grandfather Harlie Vigers after his service in the First World War. Also attached is a photo of Harlie on his motorcycle during the war - he was a despatch rider according to family memory. He had been a motorcycle enthusiast in Dubbo prior to the war also. He was once so tired that he fell asleep in an abandoned building near the front and didn't wake up when it was shelled.
