Son of John Harold Bews aka James Henry Thomas and Peternell (Nell) Whitford Northey
Married Mavis Lilian Peters in 1942 at Marrickville, NSW
Harold John Bews was educated various NSW schools finally living in Sydney. He became an Apprenticed Motor Mechanic till 1939 and then joined RAAF in 1939 as an Engine Fitter and spent 2 years in the Middle East in various sectors and was commissioned in 1942. Harry then spent 2 years in the New Guinea & Islands as a Squadron Engineering Officer and was discharged at the end of the war. He then worked with Qantas for 15 years at Rose Bay & Mascot, then moved to Connellan Airways Alice Springs where he worked for 16 years until he retired in 1976.
