The Queensland manager of the A.M.P. Society, Mr. Robert E. Ball, died at Turaween Private Hospital, Brisbane, on Tueday 7 November 1950, after a short illness. He was 56 years of age.
Born in Victoria, he joined the A.M.P. service in 1911 at the Victorian branch and in 1933 was transferred to Western Australia where he became chief clerk and later manager. In addition to holding many important positions, he was also a very enthusiastic bowler and at the date of transfer was vice-president ol the Western Australian Bowling Association, after many years as treasurer. He had a large influence on the expansion of clubs, and also was a very good bowler, having won the State pairs' championship as lead. Since his transfer to Queensland in June 1949, he became a member of the Hamilton Bowling Club. He also served in the first A.I.F. in the Seventh Infantry Battalion.
Mr Bell is survived by Mrs. Ball, two daughters and a son, who live at Ascot, Queensland. Another son is in
Perth.
