Captain Hubert Stanley Wyborn Parker.
A 31 year old from Perth, Western Australia when he joined the AIF on 16 August 1914, he embarked for overseas as a Lieutenant with the Headquarters Divisional Artillery from Melbourne on 20 October 1914 aboard HMAT Shropshire (A9). While serving at Gallipoli, he was promoted to Captain on 20 July 1915. After returning to Egypt in January 1916, he transferred to the Camel Corps and then five months later to the 15th Field Artillery Brigade. He was promoted to Major in June 1916 and then proceeded to France where he joined the 25th Field Artillery Brigade. In June 1917, he was appointed to command the 16th Battery of the 5th Brigade Australian Field Artillery and was wounded in action on 29 September 1917. Following evacuation to England for medical treatment, he returned to France in January 1918 and joined the 6th Brigade Australian Field Artillery. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order for bravery during operations near Morlancourt, France in September 1918 and was Mentioned in Despatches on two separate occasions.

Major Parker arrived back in Australia on 18 April 1919. He also served in the Second World War from February 1941 to January 1942 and was made Honorary Lieutenant Colonel.
