JOHN ACHESON BURSTAL, the son of Mr. Frederick Scott Burstal and Mrs. Evelyn Burstal, was born on 18th June, 1899, at Melbourne, and was educated at the Scots College, Sydney.
He entered the service of the Bank on 7th May, 1916, and was appointed to the Western Branch, Sydney.
John Burstal enlisted on 27th April, 1918, in the 33rd Battalion, A.I.F., and was promoted to extra regimental sergeant, conducting N.C.O., No. 3 group.
