From 1 April 1919 and 30 August 1919 he gained experience Electircal Mechanical Engineering with Fraser & Borthwick of Pitt Street, Glasgow, Scotland
Commenced return to Australia on 3 September 1919 aboard HT Barambah as nursing staff, disembarking on 15 October 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Hobart
