"Trooper R. W. Richardson. Killed in Action.
Trooper Reginald Wallace Richardson, who was killed in action at tho Dardanelles on the 7th August, was the eldest son of Mr H. W. Richardson, formerly senior partner of Messrs Richardson, Muir and Co., of Kerang, and now of Wendouree, New South Wales. He was born in Kerang in 1886, and was educated at the Kerang State School. On leaving school he entered the office of Messrs J. Raleigh and Co., The Olderfleet, Collins-street, Melbourne. He was afterwards employed by Mr J. W. Dennis, of Gonn Station, as bookkeeper, etc. He also held good positions on Kynuna and Portland Downs Stations, Queensland. His father, acquiring land on Yanga Station, near Balranald, he came home to assist, as he was a thorough stockman. The deceased soldier enlisted last December with the 8th Light Horse, 3rd Brigade, and left Egypt in May for the Dardanelles. Lieutenant E. H. Wilson, who was at one time on Yanga Station, and who was wounded at Gallipoli, has been in hospital in Alexandria, for one month and is now convalescent." - from the Riverina Recorder 03 Nov 1915 (nla.gov.au)
