Son of Gustav and Mary MAHLSTEDT of 64 Victoria Street, Coburg, Vic.
Employed by an Importer of American Leather.
Enlisted as a minor withough parental permission as soon as the Federal Parliament made such enlistments legal. Arrived in England at the time of the Armistice and went through three month's training after which he was kept in England for nine months and was made a Canteen Sergeant.
