Albert Edward Bunten served in WWII:

- in the Militia (Private; Service No:295646) from 18 March 1931 to 5 September 1935 with 5th Battalion

- with the ACMF (Sapper; Service No:V80714) from 5 October 1939 to 2 May 1940 with 3rd Garrison Battalion and 3 District Employment

- in the AIF (Sapper; Service No:VX13945) from 3 May 1940 to 24 November 1941 with 2 Railway Construction Coy RAE

- in the RAAF (Aircraftman 1; Service No:57989) from 22 June 1942 to 21 October 1942 with 1 Embarkation Depot

Born in 1900 in Melbourne Victoria, Albert was the eldest of dive children of Robert Isaac Bunten (b1867 in Melbourne, Victoria) and Agnes Mary Ricketts (b1869 in Geelong, Victoria). Robert (a Blacksmith) and Agnes (who had one son) married in 1889 in Melbourne, Victoria where they settled and raised their family.

Albert served in WWI (Private; Service No:3358) and worked as a Farm Hand and Labourer. In 1921 in Melbourne he married Ivy Victoria Loveless (b1904 in Rutherglen, Victoria) and they settled in Melbourne where they raised their family and Albert was a Labourer and Rubber Worker. Following their divorce, Albert worked as a Mechanic and in 1951 remarried Doris Harriet Ellen Foley (nee Green; b1899 in Melbourne, Victoria). Doris died in Melbourne in 1952, and Albert was in Frankston when he died in 1970.
