George Alfred Capper was a driver in the Sixth Field Artillery. George was born in Yankallila, SA, in December 1887. George was married when he joined the army and worked as a chainman at the Survey Depot.
George enlisted in August 1915 and embarked for overseas service in November 1915 as part of the 6th Field Artillery Brigade. He was repeatedly hospitalised with illness, incl,uding a bout of measles in early 1917. He left for England to return to Australia in July 1919.
