During 1918c William married Helen Maud Wallace Cowan in Victoria
Commenced return to Australia on 10 March 1918 aboard Durham Castle. Transferred to HT Orontes on 19 April 1918 at Cape Town, South Africa. Disembarked at Melbourne on 10 May 1918
