In 1927 he married Beryl Price WEIR, the daughter of Col Stanley Price Weir. Tapley worked for the Shell Oil Co as Advertising Manager in the 1930s.
It seems that Ian & Beryl lived in the Weir home at 68 Second Ave St Peters. Following S P Weir’s death in 1944 the property was transferred to Beryl and Ian Tapley and they lived there until 1958.
