Mr. and Mrs. H A Holthouse of Kapunda, have been advised by cable that their youngest son, Arthur Reginald Holthouse, of the Royal Flying Corps was killed in action on the Italian front on April 10. He was previously reported missing on that date. The deceased soldier enlisted at Mitcham on June 15, 1915 as a member of the 8th Field Ambulance and after six weeks training there was transferred to Melbourne where he underwent special training in one of the large public hospital. After nine months in Egypt he embarked for France where he remained for many months. Subsequently he volunteered for the Royal Flying Corps, was transferred to England and studied at Exeter College, Oxford, where he obtained his commission and his pilot's certificate and wings at Narborough. From thence he returned to France where he had a wide experience in aerial warfare. On January 18. 1918 he was selected with four others for active service in Italy, to which front he proceeded with a section of the Royal Flying Corps from London. He was of an exceptionally bright and happy disposition, and was held in the highest esteem by his many friends. As a singer, he had a fine voice, and since he has been on active service has sung on many occasions to soldier audiences.
