Staff Nurse Charlotte Kendall met Lt James Mark Kendall (26 Bn) on HMAT A55 Kyarra which departed Brisbane, Queensland on 16 August 1915. The couple married in England on 25/2/1916? and Charlotte resigned her postion from the AANS on 27/2/1916. Sadly Nurse Kennedy's husband was KIA at Flers France, 5/11/1916. In 1917, Charlotte resumed her nursing duties for the AANS, later being discharged 9/6/1919.
