Sidney George Birch BEWLEY was born on 1st July, 1894 at Jerrara near Crookwell, NSW
His parents were William Edward BEWLEY and Mary Jane GEORGE
He was living in Maryamma, Mount McDonald when he enlisted for WW1 on 11th August, 1915 at Lithgow - he emarked with the 30th Battalion, 2nd reinforcements on 17th December, 1915 on the ship Berrima
Sidney was Killed in Action at Bapaume, Somme sector, France on 23rd March, 1917 - he was no known grave
His name is memorialised on the Villers Bretonneaux Memorial, the Australian War Memorial, Penrith Honour Roll, Mullengrove Public War Memorial, Narrawa , Crookwell War Memorial & the Darbys Falls War Memorial
He was awarded the British War Medal & the Victory Medal
