Son of Samuel Rodger Underwood and Janet Isobel Underwood of 'Hautville'', Arthur Street, North Sydney, NSW.
Served his dental apprenticeship with Norman Ross McLean
24 March 1916 - enlisted Sydney, NSW with Dental Details rank of Staff Sergeant.
19 Janaury 1917 - allocated service number 10872 having transferred to the 9th Field Ambulance.
8 September 1919 - discharged in England. Unit Dental Corps demobilised.
