Son of Henry Quin and Frances Alice Quin nee Toomey of Murray Street, Yarraville, Victoria.

Brother of William Clarence Quin who was killed in action on 29 September 1918 while serving with the 39th Battalion and is buried in the Unicorn Cemetery, Plot 111, Row F, Grave 1

Commenced return to Adelaide on 2 January 1919 aboard HT Berrima disembarking on 17 February 1919
