 In 1897, Christopher Collett was born in South Australia. He was an orphan, who was in care of the State Children’s Department. On the 18th of August 1915, Christopher Collett enlisted for war. He then embarked on the 2nd of December 1915 on the ship HMAT RMS Malwa.

Between 1915 and 1918, he went to hospital several times because he was either wounded or sick. On one ocassion he was wounded due to his gun firing accidentally while he was cleaning it.

On the 25th of January 1919, he married to Nellie P. McVake, at the age of 21. The couple was repatriated back to Australia in September 1919 and he was discharged in December 1919.

On the 6th of Jan, 1921, his wife died at the age of 23. The couple had a son called Gordon Collett. After the war Christopher Collett lived in NSW until his death in 1970.
