Son of Percival Higgs Florence Anna Higgs nee Brown of 'Hazelgrove', Gordon Road, Lindfield, NSW
Brother of Henry Rudolph Higgs who returned to on 25 October 1917 Australia in 1917 having served with the 17th Battalion and James Godfrey Higgs who was killed in action on 26 August 1916 while serving with the 5th Field Ambulance and has no known grave. His name appears on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial
On 2 May 1919 Lancelot married Ella Elizabeth Chambers in the Holy Trinity Church, South Giles, Kingsway, England. T.L. Evans officiated. Ella died in Balmain, NSW during 1936c
