Tom was the sixth of thirteen children born to William FORSYTH and Mary Ann (Molly) nee MAHER, and was the only one to serve in World War I.
He married Amy Eva (known as Eva) MCCLUTCHEY on 4th June 1914 in Victoria, and the union produced one child: Dudley Thomas FORSYTH who went on to serve with the RAAF in the Second World War with the final rank of Wing Commander - having been awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC) in 1944.
