Trooper Allan Reuben BROWN was born on the 4th September 1893 to Henry ALCOCK and Harriet MILES nee BROWN in Terowie, South Australia.
On the 20th May 1915, he publicly declared that he had changed his name by deed poll to BROWN.
His adopted parents were Mr and Mrs W Brown.
Harriet ALCOCK died in 1906 when Allan was 13 years old.
