Son of Thomas Nathaniel Vidler and Margaret Jane Vidler of Murwillumbah, NSW.
Brother of Herbert Edward Vidler who returned to Australia on 21 April 1918 having served with the 47th Battalion.
Commenced return to Australia on 9 December 1918 aboard HT Argyllshire disembarking and 1 February 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Brisbane.
