21 Oct 1918: | Honoured Military Medal, For conspicuous courage and devotion to duty during the attack near Estrees, east of Peronne, on 3rd October 1918. As this man's platoon advanced to the attack it was met by heavy resistance from the enemy strong post directly in front. Private Adams immediately rushed ahead with his bayonet and entered the post, killing two Germans and assisting in the capture of seven others. He then signalled to the remainder of the section to advance, and held his prisoners until their arrival. His dashing action in charging this post single-handed undoubtedly saved heavy losses in the Platoon.
