George Gordon CUMMING was born in Darlington, Victoria on 4/3/1868 and worked in agriculture in that area.
On 15/7/1915 George enlisted in the AN&ME Force-Rabaul in Melbourne and sailed for Rabaul from Sydney on 11/8/1915.
His next of kin was his parents Thomas Forrest Cumming and Selina Cumming (nee Dowling) of "The Cottage" Orrong Road North, Toorak.
In Rabaul he was promoted to Sergeant.
He returned to Australia on 2/2/1917 and was discharged on 14/3/1917.
He returned to farming at Darlington and married Jessie.
George died on 24/8/1934 and is buried in the Darlington cemetery.
