2 Dec 1918: | Honoured Military Cross, "The Last Hundred Days", At Morcourt Valley on 8 August 1918, during the advance of the 32nd Battalion, he displayed great bravery and set a fine example to all ranks. When guiding the Battalion, the first Company was thrown forward to fill a gap of 300 yards and to clear the wood in the valley - Lt Lucas took control of the left Platoons and by fine handling and great personal courage the wood was quickly surrounded and cleared woth more than 100 prisoners captured. | |
