Next of Kin, Mary POWELL, Grandmother, of Narracan, Vic.
General regret is expressed throughout the Narracan district at the death of Private C.R. Little, who was recently killed in action in France. The gallant soldier, who had just reached the age of 22 years, was a native of the Narracan district, and was a grandson of Mrs A. Powell, and nephew of ex-councillor Powell of the same locality. He enlisted when the first call for volunteers was made, and served for a time in Egypt, afterwards takirjg part in the Gallipoli campaign. After the evacuation of that now famous peninsula, he took part in the active operations for the defence of the canal, but was subsequently transferred to France, and as a machine gunner took part in the big push last year, and all the minor operations following. This year he again took part in the great offensive, and was killed on March 25th. He was a typical Australian, and played his part to uphold the high prestige earned by the Australians on the field of battle. It may well be said that his duty and his work has been "Well Done "
