Reuben Christopher Abbott was born in 1893 in Bungawalbyn, New South Wales
His mother was Mrs. E Clift and his marital status was single before he joined the war.
Abbott enlisted on the 17th of February 1917 in Lismore, New South Wales as an Air Mechanic. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria on board RMS Ormonde on the 7th of March 1918.
He saw war service on the Western Front and was awarded the British War Medal and the Victory Medal.
Abbot Returned to Australia on the 3rd of September 1919 and died on the on 6th of September 1972 at the age of 77 years. Abbott was buried at Mt Thompson Memorial Gardens in Brisbane. His wife joined him a few years later.
