George Leonard Holliday was born on the April 2nd of 1898, living on 21 Gurr Street, Goodwood Park, Adelaide, for the early years of his life. He attended Goodwood Primary School and pursued higher education in Adelaide Boys High School on Grote Street. When he was 18 years and one month old, on May 5th, 1916, Holliday decided to enlist and join to fight the war, embarking on 23rd October of the same year. After serving in France and suffering a gunshot wound to his right leg, on the 26th of June 1919, George Leonard Holliday was discharged and returned to Australia after 3 years of service. Rather than return to his hometown of Adelaide, he settled in northern Perth, on 524 Fitzgerald Street. On the 28th of August, he passed at the age of 44 due to unknown causes, being cremated at Karrakatta Cemetery, the ashes being taken by the funeral director.
