Great Grandfather
Although I never met Keith, as I am told he was known, I have heard plenty of stories over the years. Although none of these included his time serving in the Western Front as a medical officer, many of these attested to his great spirit and generosity. My favourite story about my great grandfather involves his willingness to open up his home to anyone in need, regardless of the time of day, week or year. He never told many stories of his time serving on the Western Front to my grandmother or father, so I don't know much about that period of his life, apart from he was freshly graduated from medical school and very willing to serve his country in his field.
Apparently when he died, the corsico in Manly was closed to honour him. I regret that I never met him, but am proud to be related to such an honorable and generous man.
