12 Nov 1916:	Wounded AIF WW1, 5195, Gun Shot wound to the shoulder and side, near Factory Corner at Flers, Somme. Admitted to Casualty Clearing Station. Shrapnel remained in his kidney until he died aged 79. Apparently he was the youngest in the trench so placed at the rear and all died in trench in the attach except for him - this account has not been verified.

Arthur enlisted on 16 June 1915 , aged 17, to follow his older brother - Harold Stuart Jennings. Arthur served at Gallipoli and on the Western Front. His brother Harold was killed in action on 17 May 1917 in France and Arthur searched for and found his grave, then photographed it. He returned home safely but never spoke of The War.
