James Froude FLASHMAN was born in Braidwood, NSW on 13th June 1870
His parents were James Froude FLASHMAN & Hannah Elizabeth FANAWAY who married in NSW in 1854
He married Irene Flora DEWAR on 11th March, 1904 in St Marys Cathedral in Edinburgh, Scotland - two children Ann Flora Froude & James Alan Froude both born in NSW
He died from Pneumonia in France on 12th February, 1917 and is buried in the Wimereux Communal Cemetery

His son James Alan Froude FLASHMAN (SN NX150) served during WW2 as a Captain in the Australian Medical Corps and died on 18th April, 1941 in Greece
His daughter Ann Flora Froude FLASHMAN (later Lady RYLAH) became the first woman to enrol in Sydney University School of Veterinary Science
