Reginald Montague ARMITAGE was born in Puttalam, Ceylond in 1891
His parents were Henry (Harry) Percy Cairns ARMITAGE & Lily Maud ROBERTSON
He enlisted in Pontville, Tasmania on 28th August, 1914 and embarked from Hobart on the HMAT Katuna on 20th October, 1914 with the 3rd Field Ambulance
He later transferred to the 47th Infantry Battalion & obtained the rank of Second Lieutenant
Reginald was Killed in Action in France on 11th April, 1917 - no known grave
His name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial & the Villers Bretonneux Memorial
