Son of William Thomas Uren and Mary Elizabeth Uren nee Uglaw of High Street, Maldon, Victoria
12 June 1918 - enlisted at Melbourne, Victoria, with the 10th Victorian General Reinforcements with the rank of Private
14 November 1918 - transferred to the 6th Battalion
22 August 1919 - commenced return to Australia aboard HT Anchises disembarking on 8 October 1919
Medal: British War Medal
23 October 1919 - discharged at the 3rd Military District
During 1944c Howard married Myrtle Yandell in Victoria
