Son of William Bryant of Ashford via Inverell, New South Wales. Brother of 1523 Pte Albert Mowles Bryant (/explore/people/175273), 34th Bn, returned to Australia, 11 May 1919; 1527 Pte Harry Bryant (/explore/people/70639), 34th Bn, died of wounds, 19 May 1917; 1528 Pte Edward Bryant (/explore/people/227087), 34th Bn, killed in action, 16 July 1917.
28 Febraury 1917 - To hospital with pleurisy/pneumonia
26 March 1918 - Charged with unlawfully interfering with military stores.; fined 10 days full pay
2 January 1919 - Returned to Australia on board HMAT Berrima
