GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN THAN THIS
He was action for three years including being kicked in the chest by a horse in December 1917 before being shot in the stomach and dying at a Field Ambulance Station on 22 October 1918 just weeks before the declaration of peace and the end of the war. His only brother William died two years earlier.
