Herbert Lindsay RAGGATT was born in Strathalbyn, South Australia on 27th June 1894
His parents were John James RAGGATT & Maria WESTLEY

His parents were JJ Raggatt and Maria Westley, he was one of 6 children, Florence, Herbert, John, Ivy, Madge and Lance.
After being wounded he was first sent to a Hospital in St Omer and then to England to recover near Oxford.
on his return to Adelaide he worked as a Station and Stock Agent for Elders Smith and Goldsborough Mort, working in Morgan and Port Lincoln. He and Hilda Myrtle Rumsby had 2 daughters, Shirley born in 1922 and Pamela born in 1931. The family settled in Westbourne Park, where he lived until shortly before his death.
