Enlisted 14 March 1915, Blackboy Hill, Western Australia. Returned to Australia, and re-enlisted as R101, 4 March 1916 with the rank of Corporal. Embarked from Melbourne on board SS 'Zelandic', 5 October 1918, in Army Pay Corps (Special Reinforcements).
Returned to Australia 17 October 1919 and discharged
19 December 1919 with the rank of Warrant Officer Class 1.
