Lieutenant (Lt) Clifton Wilson MM... A plasterer prior to enlistment, Clifton Wilson was assigned the service number 10990 and embarked as a Sapper with the 1st Reinforcements of the 10th Field Company Engineers aboard HMAT Runic (A54) on 20 June 1916. In August 1916 he was appointed Lance Corporal (L Cpl) and in July the following year he was awarded the Military Medal. Promotion to Second Lieutenant occurred in July 1918 and to full Lieutenant in November 1918... SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
