Harold was the son of John Henry Cox and Margaret Falconer Murray who came to live at Woody Point sometime during or just after the war. Harold enlisted in first in October 1914, and later having made a good recovery after being invalided home, he re-enlisted in 1917.
Harold returned to live with his parents at Woody Point after the war. Margaret his mother, died in 1938 and Harold stayed on with his father until he married Maude Gowland in Taree in 1941. Harold also served in WWII. His older brother, John Murray Cox joined the Navy.
