Add my storyBiography contributed by Stephen Brooks
No details of what happened to Joseph are in his service file. Simply that he died of wounds received in action, in Egypt on 30 April 1915. Not even a mention of whether he died in a hospital or en-route.
His younger brother 3779 Felix Edmond Bardioux, 22nd Battalion AIF was killed in action, Pozieres, France, 26 August 1916 age 19.
Their Dad, Joseph Felix Bardioux was a Frenchman who came to Australia in 1889. His address was in Carlton Victoria and he was a chef by occupation. In 1934 he applied for a certificate of naturalization, stating that he had 2 sons killed during WW1 fighting for Australia, and lived in Carlton for the past 44 years. He had to renounce his French citizenship and was successful, but passed away in 1936.
