NIGEL EDWIN MOFFAT was born at Orroroo, South Australia, on 1 st September, 1898, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Moffat, of Kadina. He was educated at the Wallaroo High School, and joined the Bank’s service at Adelaide in February, 1916, being subsequently transferred to the Port Adelaide Branch.
Nigel Edwin Moffat enlisted in the A.I.F. on 1st June, 1917, and left Australia in the following November. He was on active service in France, as a member of the 5th Machine Gun Battalion, until August, 1918, when he was invalided to England. In March, 1919, he was promoted to corporal and obtained his discharge at the end of the year.

Nigel Edwin Moffat was born in Orroroo, South Australia on 1st of September, 1898. His mother’s name was Marie Ellen Broad, born in 1864, South Australia and she died in 1948, South Australia, age 84 years. His father's name was William Moffat, born on 22nd of July, 1858, at Woodside, South Australia and died 31st of July, 1932 at Jamestown South Australia age 74 years.
He had four brothers and parents. Nigel studied at Wallaroo High School.
He was in the machine gun company in June 1917, General Reinforcements. His service number was 2163. His religion was Presbyterian. He had boils on the 10th of July, 1918 and ended up very sick, and was sent back to England to be in hospital. He returned to Australia on the 23rd of September, 1919.
He was a bank employee from 1923 to 1963 in Perth.
He died in 1965 at the age of 66 and was buried in a cemetery in Perth, Western Australia.
