"...4101 Pte (later Spr) Alfred Taylor, 18th Battalion (later 4th Field Company Engineers), of Redfern, Sydney, NSW, son of Janet Wright, Penrith, England. A carpenter prior to enlisting, he joined the Military Expeditionary Force. at Gallipoli on 3 September 1915. He was killed in action at Pozieres, France on 31 July 1916, aged 26. He has no known grave and is remembered with honour on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
