Add my storyBiography
The Easther family were born and bred in South Australia with English on the paternal side, and European hertitage on the maternal side.
The Easther men worked as boundary riders and were excellent horsemen.
Hardy was involved in the middle east from 1915 to 1919 as a member of the 9th LHR.
The 9th LHR has a special place at the AWM in Canberra having been the only regiment in WW1 to capture a battle standard, and was awarded many other regimental honours.
This information is provided by Hardy's grandson, Roland Easther, son of Ivan (Doug) Easther (deceased).
More information on the 9th LHR is available in the book by Major T.H.Darley OBE titled "With the 9th light Horse in the Great War. (trove.nla.gov.au)"
