Son of Albert James and Elizabeth Sims; brother of Arthur Victor Sims MM
5 May 1917 - transferred from the 4 Field Artillery Brigade to the Australian Flying Corps
15 January 1918 - Promoted to the rank of Lieutenant after having received his wings
29 October 1918 - missing while on air operationsand was last seen north east of Tourmai
