25 Sep 1917: | Honoured Military Medal, Citation reads:- Before dawn on 25 September 1917 at the Regimental Aid Post North of Polygon racecourse two bearers had gone out to bring in a wounded man, when a heavy shelling commenced. Some time passed and these men did not return so Private Haysom went out to search for them. He did not find them for a considerable time during which he was completely exposed to shell fire. Eventually he found them, and finding they were lost guided them back to AID POST.
