Constant Stanley DALCO was born on 23rd August, 1883 in Port Esperance, Tasmania
His parents were Joseph DALCO and Sarah HUDSON and he was one of 12 children born in Tasmania
He enlisted in Claremont, Tasmania on 20th July, 1916 & embarked with the 40th Infantry Battalion, 4th reinforcements on 21st October, 1916 from Melbourne on the ship HMAT Port Melbourne
He was wounded in action on 8th June, 1917 with gun shot wounds to his right arm and again on 10th June, 1918 with gun shot wounds to his abdomen
He died the following day on 11th June, 1918 at the 5th Casualty Clearing Station and is buried in Crouy British Cemetery, Plot II, Row D, Grave 1.
His name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial & he was awarded the British War Medal & the Victory Medal.
