He was 30 and the son of John Thomas and Jean Hepburn; husband of Mary E. Hepburn, of 21, Francis St., Enmore, New South Wales, formerly of 59 Mort Street, Balmain, New South Wales.
He arrived at Brisbane, aged 21 on 16th July 1908 on the S.S. 'Ortona'.
He is remembered on the war memorial originally in Ipswich's London Road Congregational Church, later known as the Presbyterian Church. The memorial is now in Ipswich Museum. Also of interest on this memorial is Robert Lauchland, Service No. 1320 of the Australian Flying Corps (AFC).
