"...Second Lieutenant Francis Leofric (Frank) Armstrong, 15 Battalion, of Kangaroo Point, Qld. A veteran of the war in South Africa (Boer War) and a former bank clerk, 2nd Lt Armstrong enlisted on 9 October 1914. As a member of E Company, he embarked for overseas service from Melbourne aboard HMAT Ceramic (A40) on 22 December 1914. 2nd Lt Armstrong was promoted to Lieutenant (Lt) in February 1915. He was killed in action at Gallipoli on 10 May 1915, aged 33, and was buried at Quinn's Post." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
