23 Jul 1919: | Honoured Military Medal and bar, "The Last Hundred Days", For courage and devotion to duty at Bellicourt on 29 September and night of 29/30 September 1918 when he carried wounded continuously under heavy shell fire, both H.E. and Gas, also machine gun fire for 36 hours. Setting a fine example of leadership, many casualties both Australian and American were evacuated to the Wagon Loading Post. | |
